For many years, she was a contributing writer with National Geographic; most recently, she was the interim physics editor at Quanta Magazine, and she has written for numerous publications including Nature, The New York Times, Science News, and Scientific American. She is a sought-after expert in science communication and has served on committees convened by the National Academies, NASA, and others.
