SETI Live - InVADER Mission Live at Sea

Several weeks ago, we announced that a team of scientists and engineers from the SETI Institute, Impossible Sensing, NASA JPL, and other institutions will test their innovative robotic laser system on a deep-sea expedition aboard the E/V Nautilus. On, May 16, the Nautilus left port and headed out to sea. Now, the InVADER (In-situ Vent Analysis Divebot for Exobiology Research) mission has entered its testing phase out in the Kingman Reef and Palmyra Atoll region of the Pacific Ocean.

With several successful dives under their belt, SETI Institute research scientist and project lead Dr. Pablo Sobron and organic geochemist and data scientist Dr. Laura Rodrigues (Lunar and Planetary Institute) will chat with communications specialist Beth Johnson live from the E/V Nautilus about the mission results so far.
