Location: Online
As well as gathering light from some of the most distant objects in the observable universe, JWST will be making observations, and discoveries, much closer to home. The outer reaches of our own solar system will fall under the gaze of this remarkable telescope, and astronomers such as the SETI Institute’s Richard Cartwright will be examining the chemistry of the moons of Jupiter and Uranus to help us understand the formation of the gas and ice giant planets. Join Simon Steel in a conversation with Richard to hear about his planned observations, what it’s like to observe with JWST and what we may learn about the history of our own cosmic neighborhood.
