"A Cosmic Perspective: Searching for Aliens, Finding Ourselves"  will be presented by Jill Tarter, Chair Emeritus of SETI at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, CA. 
 
 Are we alone? Is there intelligent life beyond Earth? Explore these age-old questions with the scientist whose distinguished career served as inspiration for Carl Sagan’s "Contact."
 
 Jill Tarter has spent decades applying science’s best tools to research that gets at the heart of some of humankind’s greatest questions about where we came from, how we fit into the cosmos and where we are going. Join us for a lively look at the search for intelligent life on other planets and the implications for life here on Earth.
 
 This talk is free and open to the public and will be in the Engineering Education & Research Center's Mulva Auditorium (EER 0.904) on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin.
