Artists Re-Imagine the SETI Institute "Dot"

Artists Re-Imagine the SETI Institute "Dot"

We invited our Art Imaginarium members to give us their take on the dot in our SETI Institute logo. They gave us versions by the dozens. From radio telescopes (including our own Allen Telescope Array) to aliens, and from geometry to math and physics, the SETI dots explored science and even philosophy.

The SETI Institute’s Art Imaginarium is a Facebook group dedicated to the space where art meets science. Each month, artists tackle a new challenge theme, interpreting science through visual arts, dance, music, poetry and more. And sometimes, a mini-challenge is introduced!

We even had three video submissions:

In July, our artists worked on an art challenge about Jezero Crater as it was in its watery past. The crater is where the Mars Perseverance rover is set to land next February.

And this month, the challenge is to imagine underwater life as it might exist on icy moons like Europa and Enceladus.

Please join the group and add to our growing family of SciArtists.
