Complex Systems
Location: Running Springs, CA
Education: PhD, University of Southampton
Research Interests:
- Information and complexity-based analysis of exoplanet time series, and development of related techniques for broad application to biosignature and technosignature detection
- Modelling of non-living pattern-forming chemical systems that exhibit life-like properties including self-replication, competition, homeostasis, symbiosis and associative learning. Development of laboratory experiments that could implement such phenomena, in collaboration with Dr Holler at the University of Trento.
- Exploration of prebiotic peptide structures using protein folding machine learning algorithms
- Exploration of new, generalized laws of evolution within the Carnegie/CU Boulder/Caltech/Howard 'Missing Law' research consortium.
